    The whole plant of Goldenrod can be used as medicine. It is acrid, slightly warm and poisonous in nature and taste. It is usually used in combination with such drugs as honeysuckle, cicada slough, and burdock. It can also be used to treat venomous snake bites, such as lung heat and cough, but animals may cause nerve paralysis and other symptoms if eaten by mistake.
