    Hawthorn leaf, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. Crataegus pinnatifida Bge var.major N.E.Br. Or Crataegus pinnati fida Bge Dry leaves. Harvest in summer and autumn and air dry. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, regulating qi and dredging pulse, removing turbidity and reducing lipid. It is used for qi stagnation and blood stasis, chest arthralgia and heartache, chest tightness and suffocation, palpitation and forgetfulness, dizziness, tinnitus and hyperlipidemia.

    Mountain red deciduous tree, up to 6m high. Branches and thorns are 1-2cm long, or without thorns. Single leaf alternate; Petiole length 2-6cm; The leaf blade is broad ovate or triangular ovate, sparsely rhombic ovate, 6-12cm long and 5-8cm wide, with 2-4 pairs of pinnate lobes, apex acuminate, base broadly cuneate, glossy above, pubescent below along the leaf vein, and irregular double serrated at the edge. Corymbose, ca. 4-6cm in diameter; Calyx tube campanulate, 5-toothed; Corolla white, about 1.5cm in diameter, petals 5, obovate or suborbicular; Stamens ca. 20, anthers pink; Pistil 1, ovary inferior, 5-loculed, style 5. The pear fruit is nearly spherical, with a diameter of 2.5cm, dark red, with small yellow white spots. The sepals fall off very late, leaving a round deep depression at the apex; Small nuclei 3-5, slightly ribbed on the outward side, smooth on the inward side. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruiting period is from August to October.
